Function
The tailstock is used for supporting, centring and axial clamping of components.
The entire tailstock, including the travelling centre, sits on a spring-loaded carriage. This allows the component to be changed quickly and supported with a constant holding force.
The tailstock is ideal for use with our MDT360110-SG (worm gear) and MDT360110-QN (toothed belt drive) motorised rotary tables.

Adjusting the tailstock, changing the workpiece
Preset
The tailstock is roughly pushed into position so that the slide is not yet in contact with the clamping block when the workpiece is fixed. The clamping block is fixed to the profile rail using the clamping lever.
Inserting and removing parts
You can now move the ram axially against the spring force away from the clamping block to insert or remove the workpiece.
The workpiece is held (supported) by the spring force.
Easy handling
Workpieces or workpiece carriers can be changed with a single movement.
Widely projecting components are securely supported and high precision is achieved in terms of position and alignment.
