Format adjustment in packaging technology - manual or motorized MME adjustment technology in the packaging industry
Demanding and simple tasks such as the application of the expiry date stamp for different pack sizes at different positions was done in the past with the simplest adjustment devices as screws, stops and the skilled eye of the worker with considerable expenditure of time as well as unsatisfactory accuracy.
In order to meet modern requirements, manual positioning or cross tables are used today in a simple case, which, as in our example, move the date stamp exactly 0.1 mm to 0.01 mm using a manual adjustment unit and at the same time can be adjusted to a reproducible dimension using mechanical and electronic position indicators.
With the steadily increasing degree of automation in packaging technology, there are increasing numbers motorized positioning table systems for use. The associated flexibility means that frequent adjustments are no longer a problem and make very small lot sizes possible without wasting time.
Various equipment options, such as the option of installing motors from the manufacturer of your choice, or installing our variant S = motor and control in a compact device, as well as the option of integrating it into the control of your entire system, ensure process reliability tailored to your requirements.
Manual MME positioning modules for format changeover are suitable for applications with rare format changeovers.

Manual adjustment units are available in a short version with a bearing block, or as a long version with 2 bearing blocks as a positioning or XY table in various configurations (scale button and position indicator) and various sizes. The linear and XY units can be supplemented with other adjustment modules from the MME positioning table system to form XYZ adjusters, lifting and rotating adjustment units and countless other adjustment combinations.
Motorized MME positioning modules are suitable for applications with frequent format changeovers of partially or fully automated systems. The motorized adjusters are ideal for use in hard-to-reach places as well.
