Corner converter device for book transport boxes

In modern libraries, the transport of books between the issuing point and the book storage points is carried out fully automatically by means of conveyor systems. The books are moved in uniformly transport containers. Such transport systems are often retrofitted in partially historic buildings. There are many places where these transport containers must change the direction of conveyance, but must not be rotated in the process.

For this purpose so-called corner converters were built at MM Engineering. The corner converter consists of 2 timing belt conveyors, which are attached at 90° to each other. The middle double belt conveyor can be moved vertically. This means that the transport container  can be moved from the infeed conveyor to the corner converter via a belt conveyor and, after lifting the other conveyor by 90°, it can be extended again to the subsequent outfeed conveyor.

As the conveyor systems are installed in public buildings with public traffic, great importance was attached to the customers´safety and design specifications.

This corner converter was developed on the base of the MM Engineering conveyor technology.
